Rain on your wedding day, that seems to always be a hot topic for couples planning a spring wedding in the midwest.  Marilyn and Ricardo were in the same boat. They planned for a beautiful outdoor ceremony in April. They both really wanted the wedding to be outside, however, about an hour before the ceremony it began to rain and it was all hands on deck get everything inside and dry.  Guess what!?! Between the vendors and groomsmen, we made it happen! The indoor reception venue was quickly turned into the ceremony location and it looked beautiful. But here is the thing, none of that really mattered. It didn’t matter that it was raining. It didn’t matter that they had to make some wedding day changes. It didn’t matter that they weren’t outside on the gazebo where Ricardo proposed.   What mattered was that Marilyn and Ricardo stood in front of each other and exchanged personally written vows that made a promise to love each other forever, and the moment was beautiful. There wasn’t a dry eye in the room.

They wanted to venture outside in the rain for some photos, which we were definitely on board with!! Luckily, they did come prepared with  clear umbrellas that added some fun to the photos. (THIS!! This is a great tip for all couples who might have rain on their wedding day. Bring umbrellas without logos on them!!)

From the first conversation I had with Marilyn and Ricardo, it was clear their wedding day was going to be a God centered day.  Although, the details were absolutely beautiful, they were not the most important aspect of the day.   Because of this, they embraced the rain and never lost sight of what was most important to them on their wedding day, and it was beautiful!
